Dakin Street Roadways & Railroad Underpass

Location:  Metairie, LA

Project Description:

This Three Phase $15 million project provided a series of roadways, bridges and ramps linking Airline Drive, Jefferson Highway and the Earhart Expressway in Jefferson Parish, LA. LH&J analyzed preliminary alternatives then prepared the construction documents and performed Construction Administration services throughout this five year major transportation improvement project.

   
IHNC South Access Ramp

Location: New Orleans, LA

Project Description:

The IHNC South Access Ramp links the monumental IHNC Surge Barrier Wall to the levee crown roadway at the St. Bernard Parish end of the project. LH&J prepared the plans and specifications and performed Construction Phase Services as a part of the largest Design-Build Contract ever undertaken by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

   
Metairie Road Bridge Replacement

Location: Metairie, LA

Project Description:

The Metairie Road Bridge crosses the 17th Street Canal and is on the most heavily traveled State Highway in Louisiana. This bridge replacement project required careful planning and complex design of approach roadway geometry to allow traffic to utilize a temporary canal crossing while the aesthetically enhanced four-lane replacement bridge was under construction. LH&J performed the planning, land surveying, engineering design and assisted the LADOTD during construction.

   
Prytania Street Repairs

Location: New Orleans, LA

Project Description:

This complex roadway improvement project was designed to utilize seven construction phases and six detour routes to maintain street access to the diverse range of merchants in this historic area. Underground drainage and sewerage utilities were enhanced as part of the construction. LH&J worked closely with the Downtown Development District, various Merchant’s Associations and utility owners to develop construction plans and specifications that allowed this project to be constructed with the least amount of impacts to the businesses in this area.

 

   
Leon C. Simon & Gentilly Blvd. Bridge Replacements

Location: New Orleans, LA

Project Description:

LH&J prepared an alternatives analysis for replacing each bridge to increase the level of flood protection at two existing canal crossings and developed construction plans, specifications & cost estimates for the two replacement bridges and also performed construction phase services.
